Flag Lowering for Mary Jares
The UNO flag will be lowered today, Feb. 12, in memory of Jares, who passed away on Jan. 14 at the age of 79.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Friday, Feb. 12, in memory of UNO retiree Mary Jares.
Mary passed away on Jan. 14, at the age of 79, following a long battle with cancer.
She joined UNO in 1987 and worked as part of custodial services until her retirement in 2010.
Mary is survived by her brother, Jim; son Joe; and grandchildren John, Rebecca, and Alexander. She was preceded in death by her sister, Maxine, and her parents.
The thoughts and condolences of the university community are with Mary's loved ones during this time.
