Chancellor Li: Supporting Those Impacted by Events in Afghanistan

The University of Nebraska at Omaha is part of a global community. When someone in the world is suffering, feels scared or is in danger, we feel it, too.

Today the UNO family extends our love and offers support to all who have been impacted by recent events in Afghanistan. I applaud the Mavericks who have taken action to help the world better understand the situation and have stepped up to support the students, faculty, staff, and members of the community with connections to the country.

Less than two weeks after their affiliate office in Kabul was destroyed in an attack on a neighboring building, UNO’s Center for Afghanistan Studies has been in incredibly valuable resource for state, local, and national media in understanding the events as they unfold. Our International Programs office has been in contact with those whose teaching, learning, and working activities have been impacted.

Remember, you are not alone. We are ready to provide the Maverick community the help they need to deal with feelings of stress, anxiety, fear, and their overall wellness as they monitor these events.
