David Miller, Business Operations Coordinator for Academic Affairs at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), has been named UNO's Employee of the Month for April 2025. He was praised for his exceptional attention to detail, proactive communication, and commitment to supporting university operations.
One nominator said, "David has been one of the unsung heroes of UNO. Handling data entry for Academic Affairs is not an easy task. It is often a grueling, thankless task that requires a great deal of patience, as the data entry Dave undertakes is the gears that keep university business in motion."
His colleagues also highlighted his willingness to go above and beyond, his deep understanding of complex systems, and his collaborative spirit.
"Dave's communication is off the charts. He never does anything without being sure of his footing. If he ever has a question, he takes the time to come to HR to ask before proceeding. He also took to the training of data entry like a fish to water. He understands the ins and outs extremely well and understands how it all links to vital areas such as ITS, Budget, P2P, etc., and patiently gathers facts, answers questions, and performs the non-stop task of data entry."
For being named as Employee of the Month, Miller received a certificate, a hot/cold tumbler provided by the Maverick Store (formerly the UNO Bookstore), a monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space.
