UNO Names Rebecca Atkins Employee of the Month, August 2025

Rebecca Atkins, director of the CBA Prep Academy, has been named the University of Nebraska at Omaha's (UNO) Employee of the Month for August 2025. She was praised for her leadership, teamwork, and commitment to student success.
One nominator said that "Rebecca is a massive asset to the university! She has led UNO's CBA Prep Academy for over two years. This program serves students in middle and high school in the greater Omaha area. She is bringing the idea of college to students who might not have considered this path a possibility.”
A second nominator shared a quote from one of Atkins’ students: "She’s really enthusiastic about getting kids to engage and learn. The camp she runs is very fun and exciting and there is a lot to learn."
One nominator said Atkins brings consistency and care to every interaction.
"Whether she’s leading a camp day or welcoming a tour group, Rebecca shows up prepared, professional, and focused on making students feel seen and supported. She’s someone students remember. Her work opens doors, builds confidence, and helps students see themselves at the College of Business Administration."
Another nominator noted the positive influence she has within the campus community.
"Rebecca embodies everything the Employee of the Month award represents. Her character, consistency, and impact on our campus community make her an exceptional leader and role model."
For being named as Employee of the Month, Atkins received a certificate, a hot/cold tumbler provided by The Maverick Store, a monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space.
