Elizabeth Schwartz, Administrative Tech for International Programs at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), has been named UNO's Employee of the Month for December 2025. She was praised for her dedication to supporting students and her Maverick spirit.
A nominator said "Elizabeth has been a dedicated, long-time employee of International Programs. She is well known for going above and beyond the call of duty and frequently volunteers to take on additional responsibilities. Most recently, she spearheaded our office’s Homecoming decoration activities, and our office was selected as the office with the 'Best Overall Incorporation of MavSpirit.' I have found myself referring to Liz as 'MavSpirit Personified' on several occasions!"
Schwartz’s dedication is especially evident in her work with students.
Another nominator said that she "greets students with a smile and helps to answer all of their questions with the kindness and patience they deserve. Our students often require extra time and special care, as many of them are just arriving in the U.S. and experiencing life in a new culture for the first time. Liz provides that special care, even during stressful times. Her unwavering dedication and significant contributions to the students, staff, and faculty here at UNO merit our highest acknowledgement and gratitude."
For being named Employee of the Month, Schwartz received a certificate, a hot/cold tumbler provided by The Maverick Store, a monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space.
